Last year between December 18th and Christmas day 436 homes went under contract in Salt Lake, Davis and Utah counties combined! I've always known a lot of homes sold during that week, but I didn't realize the number was quite so high! 414 of those homes that went under contract, successfully closed, and 253 of those houses were in Salt Lake County. Interesting, huh?
There is all sorts of interesting information you can take away from this graph. The main thing I want to get across is that most people think the winter is a bad time to sell because there are less sales. The truth is that although there are less sales, there is a higher percentage chance of you selling during the holidays and winter months. Plus, as you can see from the blue line, prices generally don't drop just because it's winter. NOTE: This data is for Salt Lake, Da
